No-one Dies Alone (NODA)
Welcome to NODA
NODA (No One Dies Alone) is a new compassionate initiative run in partnership with EDHSCP (East Dunbartonshire Health Information) and coordinated between Carers Link and Ceartas Advocacy.
We are recruiting for volunteer NODA Companions!A NODA Companions is a trained volunteer who provides support within East Dunbartonshire Care Homes to a resident during their final 72 hours of life who does not have support from family or friends.
We understand that at this difficult time busy care home staff really want to be able to offer more time to their residents but have so much to juggle. We also understand that a person might not have support from family or friends for lots of different reasons. Sometimes due to family living further away and unable to return quickly.NODA Companions do not take on any care role but hope to reduce the pressure by offering their calm presence.
They might read an individual's favourite book to them, play some of their favourite music, or simply hold their hand. Our new project relies on caring and compassionate volunteers. If you feel that this is something you would like to be part of please get in touch.
